On May 14th, GZU held a 2019 graduation evening, themed "Beautiful Youth, Successful Voyage," commemorating the 100th anniversary of the May Fourth Movement in the East Campus gymnasium. A number of GZU leaders, including Li Jianjun, Luo Changjiang, Linghu Caitao and Tang Benwen, attended the party and watched the ceremonial programs together with more than 2,000 students and faculty members.

The evening was comprised of two parts: “the Songs of the Times" and "You Used to Be a Youngster." It featured 13 various programs including dancing, historical drama, singing, and a fashion show.

A joyful cheerleading dance signaled the start of the evening. Following the dance, outstanding GZU graduate representatives walked the red carpet, joined by representatives of graduates from various communities including the Student Youth Committee, Youth Volunteers Association, and GZU Students’ Associations.

The evening presented an impressive variety of live performances. The team of national flag guards, bearing in mind their "Strong Army Dream," showcased their Chinese boxing skills.  Their robust build as well as their martial arts techniques impressed the audience. Their performances ignited a flare of patriotic enthusiasm among the audience who gave them rounds of applause. After hearing the rap song, "Floating into the Distance," which wished the graduates the best and expressed hope that centennial GZU will continually improve, the audience was tremendously excited. The modeling team and Peking Opera team from the GZU Art Group presented a unique runway show featuring drama costumes. This "Youth Tour" catwalk show, highlighting classical Peking Opera on the modern catwalk, was distinctively phenomenal for the audience. Students also performed in a skit called "GZU Central Television Broadcast," covering interesting stories and their campus life throughout the four years. Amused by their wonderful performances, the audience fully realized that it was time to bid farewell with one another. The orchestral ensemble "Farewell" seemed to speak of the graduates’ deep friendship.

The evening ended with the last song, "Time to Say Goodbye, My Friend.”

This event was sponsored by the GZU Youth League Committee, Publicity Department of the Party Committee, Students Office of the Party Committee, and Postgraduates Office of the Party Committee and organized by the College Student Art Group.
