On June 5th, Vice President Li Junqi visited Zhejiang Agriculture and Forestry University (ZAFU). The visiting delegation is composed of a number of faculty representatives and some key personnel from various GZU sectors including Institute of Science and Technology, Department of Laboratory and Equipment Management, Office of Cooperation and Exchange, and College of Agriculture.

Li Junqi and the delegates visited the State Key Laboratory of Subtropical Forest Cultivation under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Zhejiang Province. They were briefed on genetic breeding in forestry, the first-class discipline in Zhejiang, and forestry cultivation, the top provincial discipline. The delegation also visited the key plant exhibition where they saw dendrobium, pecans, moso bamboo, Chinese torrey, and southern Chinese yew.

A meeting was held following the visit. Jin Peihua, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of ZAFU, extended a warm welcome to Li Junqi and his delegation. He introduced the environment of ZAFU and the development of the Key Laboratory. He hopes that through interaction with each other, the two universities will establish a framework for long-term cooperation on a wide range of areas in a bid to promote special industry, special advantage disciplines, and joint research projects. In addition, they will share key technology platforms, and jointly build a demonstration base for businesses.

Li Junqi introduced the development of GZU and highlighted its efforts towards poverty alleviation, such as organizing 12 teams to help promote the industrial revolution in rural areas. He noted that GZU will take the chance to learn more about the dendrobium industry and its development mechanism from ZAFU. He hopes that the two universities will able to share administrative experiences in discipline development, and eventually make substantive progress towards win-win cooperation.

At the meeting, participants also exchanged views on a variety of issues including the developmental mode of the special industry for the College of Agriculture, the blueprint for the dendrobium industry, poverty alleviation efforts, and laboratory management experiences.

At the end of the meeting, Li Junqi and Jin Peihua signed a "Comprehensive Cooperation Framework Agreement" on behalf of the two universities.
