GZU Signs Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange

On August 20, Guizhou University and the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange, under the Ministry of Education, held a meeting and signing ceremony to finalize a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement. Wang Daqian, Party Secretary and Director of the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange, and Song Baoan, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and President of Guizhou University attended the event. The attendees also included representatives from both organizations. The meeting was chaired by Vice President Zhang Dalin.

During the ceremony, Wang Daquan and Song Baoan signed the comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of their respective organizations. The agreement establishes a strategic partnership based on the principles of “cultivating virtue and talent, resource sharing, complementing strengths, shared responsibilities and serving society”. The two parties will collaborate closely in areas such as studying abroad, hosting international students, international cooperation, innovation and entrepreneurship, academic exchanges, teacher-student exchanges, personnel training and consulting services.

President Song highlighted that the Guizhou Province Higher Education Quality Development Conference emphasized “focusing on enhancing Guizhou University”. He stressed that Guizhou University is committed to a development model with “Chinese characteristics, world-class standards, and addressing the needs of Guizhou”. To advance the development of education, science and technology and talent, it is essential to address shortcomings in internationalization. With the support and guidance of the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange, Guizhou University intends to enhance its high-quality international education and set a benchmark for cooperation.

Wang Daquan praised Guizhou University for its excellent facilities and development potential, noting that it is a representative local university with strong entrepreneurial spirit. He emphasized that the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange is dedicated to supporting the internationalization of domestic universities. The signing of this agreement is part of the Center’s strategic plan and an integral component of its operational framework. Both parties are expected to focus on project-driven initiatives, customized services, and innovative development. The goal is to help Guizhou University gain global recognition and become a world-class institution, improving its level of internationalization.
